Ending Poverty in All Its Forms Everywhere
Poverty is defined as a condition where individuals are unable to meet the minimum basic needs required for a decent and dignified life. Defining or measuring poverty is challenging due to its multidimensional nature.
Therefore, SDG 01 emphasizes the importance of addressing poverty holistically, considering various aspects such as health, education, and access to basic services. While the primary approach to measuring poverty has been through economic metrics (monetary approach), it is also crucial to consider other dimensions that impact an individual's quality of life.
