Three Tax Service Offices in the Tanah Abang district, in collaboration with Jakpreneur, are organizing a Business Development Services (BDS) event at the Parking Lot of KPP Pratama Jakarta Tanah Abang Satu, Pejompongan, Central Jakarta on August 22 and 23, 2024.
The event, themed ‘Tanah Abang SMEs: Realize Dreams, Advance the Nation,’ involves around 30 SMEs under Jakpreneur in the Tanah Abang district. The BDS will also feature a series of additional activities including an SME Bazaar, Tax Corner Services, musical and dance performances, group exercise, games and entertainment, as well as donations to social foundations and orphanages in the Tanah Abang area, under the title Berkah Deja[p]u.
The Head of the Central Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), Eddi Wahyudi, stated that the Directorate General of Taxes is highly supportive of the development of SMEs in Indonesia, as evidenced by the tax incentive of a special rate of 0.5 percent for SME taxpayers. He mentioned that individual SME taxpayers are not subject to income tax on revenues up to 500 million rupiah. Additionally, the DJP conducts a Business Development Services (BDS) Program annually through its vertical units.
"BDS is one of DJP's strategic initiatives to reach the informal sector through an end-to-end approach primarily involving SMEs. The organization of the BDS activities in the Tanah Abang district is a manifestation of the Tanah Abang tax offices’ commitment to supporting SME development,” said Eddi on Thursday, August 22. He noted that the SME coaching and development program in the Tanah Abang district represents an escalation of DJP's Business Development Services (BDS) program. According to him, this BDS program reflects DJP’s commitment to supporting SMEs in a non-financial manner.
“The hope from the implementation of the BDS activities is that SME operators will be able to expand their market share, promote their products widely, and attract new customers, thereby increasing their revenue and allowing their businesses to continue to grow,” he emphasized. For information, the SME Bazaar at this event is organized in collaboration with the Jakarta Central Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Sub-District, Tanah Abang District, Bank DKI and other banks, as well as taxpayers registered with KPP Pratama Jakarta Tanah Abang One, Two, and Three.
